I am non-binary and I am an Astronomy and Planetary Science PhD student.//
I am currently at Northern Arizona University studying microbial mat communities in the McMurdo Dry Valleys of Antarctica as an analog for potential life on other planets. I am investigating what diagnostic biological signatures and instrumentation exist for detecting these microorganisms and how we can begin to apply these life detection techniques to Mars and exoplanets. As someone who has undergone gender discrimination in STEMM, I am passionate about creating inclusive spaces and support for underrepresented people in STEMM. I am passionate about inclusive education and action surrounding the disassembly of traumatic spaces in STEMM.
