I am bi/pan/equal-opportunity dater and I am a university biology course coordinator, biology education researcher, STEM education PhD student.//

Greetings! I am a Biology TA-turned Biology Course Coordinator who specializes in Peer-Led Team Learning (PLTL) for majors-level introductory biology students. I develop PLTL biology workshops, hire and train the undergraduate peer leaders, and coordinate the PLTL courses. My peer leader training program goes beyond simple active learning and student-centered pedagogies to include feminist and critical theory educational research as part of an attempt to challenge systemic barriers to female, POC, LGBTQ+, first-generation, ELL, and low SES students in STEM majors at our university. Alongside course coordination, I conduct biology education research about how participating in PLTL affects students’ attitudes about learning biology and motivation to learn biology, and how the PLTL program can promote diversity and equity in university STEM programs. Most recently, I have started a STEM Education PhD program.
