I am gay and I am a high school biology teacher.//
I am a high school biology teacher, researcher in the social sciences (dance and masculinity studies), and a cross country coach. I believe that having conversations across social difference are vital to the progress of LGBTQIA+ people. I purposefully work at a school that would be classified as conservative. My teaching is student-centered in the learning of biology. My research focuses on the construction of masculinities through the teaching of dance. My recent co-authored paper (forthcoming) studies contemporary trends in dance pedagogy including post-humanisms, decolonialities, and intersubjectivities.
