I am gay and I am a Professor, Associate Dean, and School Director.//
I am a gay, Asian-American scientist who uses genomic approaches to study evolution of function and form.
I’m a Professor at Arizona State University, and I have also been in administration for the past seven years, currently serving as Director of the School of Life Sciences and Associate Dean of Strategic Partnerships in our college. My husband is also faculty at our university. I have been out since college, and there have not been many visibly LGBTQ scientists during my training. I participate in a mentorship program for LGBTQIA students at our university and try to support building more communities within scientific and academic organizations.
