I’m a lesbian and I’m an invasion ecologist specializing in risk assessment at the University of Florida. //
I’m an invasion ecologist originally from Ohio, now in Florida. In my role as an extension scientist, I oversee assessments of over 880 non-native species in Florida. My research interests include plant herbivore interactions, plant invader traits, and plant invasion risk assessment. In my spare time I brew beer and hang out with my dog. I’ve been out and proud for over 25 years, and I’ve witnessed the STEM community become more and more welcoming to the LGBTQ scientists. Visibility and representation matters!
