I am neuroqueer and I am a critical teacher educator and mathematics educator.//

 

I taught mathematics and engineering foundations to secondary and post-secondary students for near a decade, primarily in working class urban areas in the midwestern US, before ultimately earning my PhD in Mathematics Education. Now I teach current and future teachers how to teach in effective, emancipatory ways, with particular focus on STEAM subject matter.

My research employs anarchism as a sociopolitical frame to contribute to emancipatory theory and praxis in mathematics education and education writ broad. My theoretical contributions analyze the ways power and ethic are constituted and conveyed ideologically, structurally, and intersectionally in varied educational spaces. My practical contributions are rooted in the anarchist practice of Direct Action, wherein we leverage what power we have to directly advance equitable causes.
