I am gay and I am an ice core scientist.//
I am an ice core scientist, and study the history of sea ice in polar regions using ice core chemistry. I work in Antarctica, Alaska, the Canadian high Arctic, Greenland, and the Canadian Rockies. I am the Director of the Canadian Ice Core Lab at University of Alberta, and proudly hold the first PhD in Glaciology ever conferred by MIT! I am a co-founder of Girls on Ice Canada, and am also an explorer/adventurer/alpine climber.
