I am queer and I am an associate professor of chemistry. //
I’m a theoretical/computational chemist at the University of Iowa, where I lead a diverse research group that tackles complex problems using theory and modeling. I live in Iowa City with my wife and two children. On campus I’m part of a Safe Zone program, and this year I’m marching in a Pride parade for the first time. Being openly out has gotten easier over time, and now I hope that my visibility will help others feel welcome and represented in science.
