He/Him

I am gay and I am a medical writer.//

After finishing my PhD in microbiology in 2015, I took a detour off of the academic track and spent 4 years doing science communication, working in press offices at AAAS and UW-Madison. Currently, I’m a medical writer for the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer, where I help develop clinical practice guidelines that assist oncologists in providing optimal patient care. It was a big leap from my PhD work in bacterial genetics to cancer immunotherapy, but, as my advisor always told me, “the most important thing you learn in grad school is how to learn!”
