I am bi and I am a math instructor at a STEM high school.//
I am part Chamoru and grew up in Colorado. For undergrad, I went to the University of Northern Colorado and studied mathematics. One of my professors told me about Research Experiences for Undergraduates, so I did an REU at Grand Valley State University. That experience changed my career path, as I found that I enjoyed research and I learned about graduate school (an opportunity that I did not understand well, as I was a first generation college student). I thus went on to grad school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and got my PhD. Teaching has always been my passion, so I am excited to now be a math instructor at an advanced STEM high school in western North Carolina.
In my spare time, I love spending time outdoors and with friends, taking care of my many plants and my cat Pi, and do arts and crafts (especially painting).
