I’m queer and I’m a PhD student in mycology and microbial ecology. //

Fungal and plant interactions were what drew me to research. I began as an undergrad studying orchid mycorrhizae at the University of New Mexico. I currently serve as president of my university’s oSTEM chapter at Kansas State University. My research focus looks at the impacts fire has on soil microbial communities. After fire, not much is known on community transition states and recovery times, so that is what I’m studying for my PhD.
