Paula Dalcin Martins

She/Her

I’m pansexual and I’m a microbiology PhD. //

I am Brazilian and I got my PhD in microbiology at the Ohio State University in the USA. Now I am a postdoc in the Netherlands, studying microorganisms that eat methane, a greenhouse more potent than carbon dioxide for global warming. I am extremely passionate about science, teaching and mentorship, and I am doing my best to become an assistant professor. I am an intersectional feminist and vegan for ethical, environmental, and health-related reasons. My husband and I have adopted two pigs, Ozzy and Bitzy, who bring us a lot of joy and fun. My life plans are to keep fighting to knock down the barriers that historically oppressed groups face in academia, enjoy my life with my beloved ones, and keep learning and growing as a person.
