I am bisexual and I am a neuroscience outreach educator.//

Hello! I am a microglia biologist turned outreach and education fellow at the University of California, Irvine passionate about making neuroscience accessible for all. I graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 2016, and I received my PhD in 2021 from UCI studying human microglial genetics in Alzheimer’s Disease where I fell in love with outreach education.

I am currently working on the NIH-SEPA funded Brain Explorer Academy 2.0, a project I was involved with in its early stages in grad school, which will provide community centered neuroscience outreach to high school sophomores in Santa Ana California, following students to senior year, and evaluating Competency Development, Knowledge Attitudes and Practices, and Workforce Capacity Building. I hope to continue building and evaluating excellent outreach, education, and training programs in STEM to improve our scientific world from many levels, children to academics to the general public.

I also proudly identify as a Disabled Woman in STEM; as a Type 1 Diabetic I advocate for Disability and Diversity in STEM and beyond, you can see more of my artwork at advocacy on my website and social media. In my free time I enjoy painting, crafting, cuddling with my partner and cats, and adventuring outside.
