I am gay and I am an ornithologist.//
Born and raised in Hungary, I finished high school in Italy and moved to the USA, came out and attended college (not in that order), grad school and postdoc there. After my first faculty job in New Zealand, I returned to the USA and after a faculty and administrative job in New York City, and I’m now an endowed professor in host-parasite interactions at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
