I am queer and I am a post-doctoral researcher.//

I’m a systems neuroscientist who is interested in understanding the basis of perception, cognition and memory. My PhD research showed that hippocampal place cells (which are thought to comprise the building blocks of memory, but are often only considered in terms of their spatial responses) can also respond to tastes to form a multivariate cognitive map. I recently started my postdoc, where I will study how cortical circuits are disrupted in psychiatric disorders.

I believe that all aspiring scientists should have strong LGBTQ+ role models in their lives. Being able to confidently express your identity goes hand in hand with having confidence in your work as a scientist.
