I am gay and I am a statistician, epidemiologist, and science communicator. //
I’m a Lecturer at Coventry University in the UK. I’m interested in how we can use statistics and models to solve problems in public health and epidemiology, and my PhD research has focused on predicting what kinds of viruses are likely to cause pandemics in the future using information such as their animal host range and their molecular characteristics. Speaking with the time I was deciding my own career path in mind, I wouldn’t want the next generation of scientists to ever feel that what they can achieve is limited because of who they are.
