I am gay and I am a structural biologist and virologist. //
I moved to London from Malaysia in 2013 to study Biochemistry at Imperial College London as an undergraduate. I developed a strong interest in structural biology and infectious diseases and I am now pursuing my PhD as a structural virologist at the University of Oxford. My research is in identifying the zoonotic potential of emerging viruses and the neutralisation of some of these very deadly viruses that cause haemorrhagic fevers in humans. Outside of the lab I love to hike, run, and travel. I am also an active advocate for mental health issues within the LGBTQ+ community and among graduate students.
