I am gay and I am an ecologist.//
I am a plant climate ecologist that previously worked in restoration ecology. I love learning more about local native plants, how to restore them and how future climate changes will impact their physiology, ecology and trophic interactions. My story began when I started college at UC Santa Barbara. There I learned how to embrace my queerness and my love for plants and our local and global ecosystems. Growing up as a little gay Vietnamese boy, representation is so important not just to make sure upcoming generations can fully realize themselves, but also those who may need more support to feel comfortable with themselves.
