I am queer and I am an ecologist.//
I am an ecophysiologist who studies sleep and other interesting behaviors that unite humans with the harsh realities of the natural world. I love to learn about unique adaptations to life at sea, including dolphins that sleep in half of their brain, seals that hold their breath and spiral into the deep while they sleep, and birds that sleep while flying over the open ocean. I have benefited so much from my queer, ecologist community and hope to pay that forward to the next generation.
