I am gay and I am a chemistry educator.//
Hey! I am Hugh, and I am an Associate Teaching Professor of Chemistry at the University of Southern Mississippi. I completed my Ph.D. in Supramolecular Chemistry in 2016 and investigated the design, synthesis, and spectroscopic testing of chemosensors for cations and small molecules from the cathinone class of drugs. Now, I teach freshmen college students in general chemistry and a variety of other courses on campus. In addition, I have an administrative role in the university’s Center for Faculty Development, and I am the university’s Academic Integrity Officer.
When I am not working, I enjoy a long walk, baking, and working outside.
