He/Him

I am gay and I am a neuroscientist.//

I am a Research Scientist at Columbia University/New York State Psychiatric Institute in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. I completed my Sc.B. at Brown University and Ph.D. at Washington University in St. Louis in Neuroscience. My work focuses on using structural and functional MRI to understand pediatric affective disorders, mainly examining depression, anxiety, and irritability. I am particularly interested in emotion and reward processing and developing markers of risk and treatment response. Throughout my career, I have been very lucky to find open and supportive mentors and lab communities. I hope to pass this on to future scientists and to help foster visibility and community for LGBTQ people in STEM.
