I am gay and I am a professor of theoretical linguistics.//
Language is part of the natural, as well as the social, world and I’ve been fascinated about how to apply scientific methods to understanding it since I was a teenager. I’m currently professor of linguistics at Queen Mary University of London, and my research involves formal, experimental, and data-driven methods to work out what human language is. Partner of @ansonmackay (on 500QueerScientists somewhere too).
