I am gay and I am a post doc in neuroscience. //

I grew up in a small village never thinking much about sexuality, though I noticed that I was not as other boys. When I moved to university I became more aware of it and how much people paid attention if you were heterossexual or homossexual. I pursued my studies in biology and I got interested in the topic of sexuality from a biological point of view, and I kept keeping an eye on the literature and new developments on that side too. During my PhD, I was the “only gay in town” and I never felt any kind of discrimination at the institution I was. Nowadays, I am doing a post doc and we have a small LGBTI+ community at our department that we are very proud of!
