Science is my favorite subject in high school and the thought of being a scientist was always in the back of my mind. It didn’t help that I couldn’t see any scientists that look like me despite the support from teachers saying I should consider science as a career. It is my career goal to be an academic scientist and mentor the next generation of scientists who are not only amazing at what they do but not be afraid to express their whole selves in both the lab and their personal lives.
