Carmen Marsit

He/Him

I am gay and I am an environmental molecular epidemiologist. //

My research focuses on understanding how the environment—including physical, chemical, and psychosocial exposures—impact human health with a particular focus on exposures during the prenatal period on children’s health. My laboratory uses state-of-the-art genomic tools applied to human population studies to define the mechanisms underlying the environment’s role in health and disease. I’m also passionate about my role as an educator and mentor, and pride myself on creating an inclusive and creative laboratory environment to stimulate the greatest science. My husband and I live and love in the Atlanta area with our two dogs.
