I am gay and I am an ecology and evolution PhD student.//
I study the taxonomy, ecology and evolution of fleshy macrofungi and earned my Bsc at the University of Melbourne in Plant Sciences, followed by an internship at the Royal Botanic Gardens of Victoria. Following that I hiked 1100 miles of the PCT then moved to the Bay Area to get a masters at CSUEB and to explore the rainbow city. There I was lucky enough to be an usher at SF drag shows like The Golden Girls Live and find my gayest self. To bring us to present I just started a PhD program at UNM! Long term I’m looking into doing active research and curating fungal natural history collections. My hobbies include hiking, backpacking, dancing and crafts. My proudest accomplishment to date is that I’ve named a species!
