I am gay and I am a cell and molecular biology grad student. //
I’ve loved STEM since I was a kid, but never thought I’d go into biology. My old advisor, who happened to be a gay woman, helped me start and flourish after I decided to pursue a B.S. in biology. My research mentor, who happened to be a gay man, has helped me finish a B.S. and pursue an M.S. in the same field. These individuals are but two queer educators who have influenced my scientific world immensely, and I’m thankful for the visibility they help bring to our discipline.
