He/Him They/Them
I am gay and queer and I am an ecologist.//
I love the intersection of queerness and ecology because in both places there is a deep appreciation for variation, distinction, and connection. I think for folks who call themselves queer ecologists we hold in each of our hands these two universes: queerdom and nature. As I grow as a scientist and continue to explore the natural world I inadvertently and simultaneously have worked to explore my queerness and how it has shaped me. My story is a journey of following my passions for the natural world while also existing as an out and proud queer human. I think that the diversity life is the most spectacular thing in existence and Im happy to be a little rainbow drop within it.
