I am bi and I am an animal behavior ecologist.//
I am bi and I work at the interface of animal behavior, disease, and community ecology.
I’ve studied plant ecology, animal behavior and species interactions. I am a PhD student in Zoology at the University of Florida. My research is mainly focused on how disease and animal behavior impact each other and how those dynamics impact species interactions in the broader community. I’m generally interested and work with invertebrates (spiders, ants, nematodes etc.) and their associated plants.
I came out when I was 24 and I never knew any out queer people on a personal level until I was 27. Even though people around me have been very accepting, I still feel uncomfortable when openly discussing my sexuality. Every time I meet sexual minorities or force myself to talk about it I feel a little more comfortable.
