He/Him

I am gay and I am a PhD student in biology. //

Growing up gay, I learned to put my head down and focus on my studies to not draw attention to my differences. This mentality drove me to be very academically rigorous, and I’m thankful that it pushed me into science. I’m currently a graduate student at MIT, studying host-microbe interactions in C. elegans. I’ve always been fascinated by bacteria; they’re so interesting because of their diversity both in terms of physical attributes and also their pathogenicity. So naturally, I gravitated toward this for my thesis research. Outside of science, I run a men’s fashion blog because hobbies keep a grad student sane, right? I make this blog a challenge for myself: All of the clothing items have to be under $15. You can check it out below if you’d like!
