I am a lesbian and I am an ecologist (population to ecosystem levels) & conservation biologist. //

After 7 years in HIV/AIDS services, I realized social work & I were not meant to be in a long-term relationship. As part of my career shift, I earned a MS from the University of New Hampshire & a PhD from the University of Minnesota, focusing first on water quality then on ecosystem services & ecosystem functions more broadly. I’m currently a post-doc working on questions related to ecological restoration and community genetics. My working group is very queer-friendly but I know of only a handful of other out, queer scientists in my & allied departments.
