I am pansexual and a wildlife biologist. As a Latina growing up in rural California, my sense of place has long been centerfold to my identity. The natural world and public lands played an integral role in my early development. I had known I was going to be a biologist since the 3rd grade when I first learned of deforestation and endangered species, concepts that ended up being much closer to home than I understood at the time. It was only natural that I would devote my life to conservation biology. I am currently perusing my masters in cutting-edge wildlife research that integrates macro and micro-perspectives to achieve a holistic understanding of wildlife health. I’m excited to have found a career path that allows me to influence policy that protects the resources I am passionate about.
