She/Her
I am bi and I am a developmental biologist.//
I have a PhD in biology from Johns Hopkins University where I studied cone photoreceptor specification and patterning in human retinas. I am broadly interested in developmental and molecular biology, and have worked with many in vivo and in vitro systems including sea urchins, frogs, flies, zebrafish, worms, cell culture, and organoids!
I am interested in continuing in academic science and pushing for inclusion in the STEM fields with regards to queer and minority inclusion. I have been lucky to meet several queer mentors in science throughout my education, and hope to be a mentor for younger scientists moving forward.
Outside of work, I enjoy going to concerts, sampling local beer, rock climbing, and snowboarding!
