Hi Everyone!
My name is Ryan, and I am a gay man who works as a Research Associate for a large STEM company named Bio-Techne. I came-out to my accepting family during the summer between my senior year of High School and my first year of college. throughout my life, a LOT of things have changed. The one thing has never changed is my want to be scientist working in labs. Even as a kid I knew I wanted to be in a STEM field. I remember very young asking for, and getting a toy microscope set and looking at everything I could possibly sample under it. On top of dedicating my life to the STEM field I have also dedicated over half of my life to Karate. I am a third degree black belt and former Karate Instructor.
I earned my BS from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in the rural city of Menomonie, Wisconsin. My degree was in Applied Sciences with concentrations in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I have been very lucky throughout my education and career to have met and worked with many fellow scientists that identify as LGBTQIA+. I currently work and live in Minneapolis, MN.
