I am gay and I am a psychologist and researcher. //
I grew up in a place where the word “gay” had a double meaning. Firstly, worthless. And secondly, inappropriate. I was told I was gay before I could even develop my own sexuality and personality. As a researcher and a psychologist, my first goal is to give a voice to every victim who thinks he/she cannot be who they are, regardless of your sexual orientation. Straight, gay, bi, or lesbian are just a way to describe yourself if you want to use them—don’t let the world use them to describe who you are.
