Él/He/Him
I am queer and I am a public health scientist interested in health equity and chronic diseases. //
As a Latinx public health researcher from Panamá studying how health equity shapes non-communicable diseases’ risk, survivorship, and mortality, my main goal is to diversify platforms and spaces within the research, academia, and industry fields so that underrepresented communities and individuals can represent themselves at the table when constructing local solutions to national and global health-related issues. I aspire for students who do not see themselves represented in the communities they live, study, and work, especially my LGBTIQ+ community, to know that their stories and passion are invaluable to constructing sustainable solutions in society.
