I am gay and I am a computational biologist.//
I am a computational biologist studying genome evolution of coral symbionts and relatives, with a focus on how symbiosis drives diversification in this group. I am originally from Mexico, where I completed my BSc in Biology (Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León). I then moved to Germany for my MSc in Evolution, Ecology and Systematics (Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München). After that, I went to Australia for my PhD (The University of Queensland). I am currently a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of South Florida, USA.
