I am bi and I am an ecologist.//
Hi I’m a plant community ecologist working in many ecosystems, including tropical and temperate forests. I climb trees! Many of my experiments are up in the canopy, trying to figure out how epiphytes (plants that grow on other plants) assemble into diverse communities. I also am working to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEM and want us all to be able to bring our full selves to our work and life.
Currently I’m an NSF Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Biology hosted at the University of Puget Sound. My PhD is in Biological Sciences from the University of Pittsburgh, where I also completed a graduate certificate in Latin American Studies. My MS is in Earth & Environmental Sciences and my BS is in IDEAS (Integrated Degree in Engineering, Arts & Science), both from Lehigh University.
