I am gay and I am a physicist by training now a non-profit leader.//
I’m a cis-male gay immigrant leader in the world of scientific non-profits. After a short career in the Irish foreign service (and being posted to Washington DC and the UN in NYC), and 17 years at the US National Academies of Science (overseeing more than 100 science policy reports in a plethora of physical sciences subjects), I have landed as CEO of the American Institute of Physics. AIP is a federation that advances the success of our 10 Member Societies (which in turn represent more than 120k members) and an institute that operates as a center of excellence supporting the physical sciences enterprise. I am also a proud Irishman, Dubliner, Washingtonian, and married to a NY’er.
