I am gay and I am the deputy editor of The Analytical Scientist.//
I’ve always had a close relationship with the sciences. Beginning with studies in Medical Biochemistry and Translational Oncology, I soon moved into research laboratories, where I contributed to work on prostate cancer and soft-tissue sarcoma. After that, I worked as a Medical Writer, writing manuscripts for reputable medical journals and key materials for international meetings, including drug launches and conferences. I quickly discovered that my goals weren’t totally aligned with where that career was taking me, and was lucky enough to find myself a role writing more creatively as part of the team for The Analytical Scientist. As a gay man, my role comes a unique opportunity to empower LGBT+ people in the sciences, and that’s exactly what I plan to do.
