I am gay and I am a plant pathologist/plant geneticist. //
I did my undergraduate degree in biology at a university in “Lake Wobegon,” Minnesota. I then did my PhD in plant pathology at the University of Minnesota and am now a post-doc studying barley domestication in the Harz mountains of Germany. I’m glad to have found plant science. The science is fascinating and I never knew or expected there to be so many other LGBTQ or allied scientists!
