I am gay and I am a neuroimmunologist.//
Hi! I’m a soon-to-be second year Ph.D. student in the University of Michigan’s neuroscience graduate program. I have joined Dr. Roman Giger’s laboratory where I am beginning my thesis on the immune response and molecular mechanisms responsible for neuroregeneration in the central nervous system. This passion stems from when my brother suffered a traumatic brain injury 11 years ago (made an amazing 5% chance full recovery), and was treated at the University of Michigan’s hospital… which I can view from my lab! It’s awesome to be working at the same place that saved my brother’s life, and motivates me every day! 💙💛
