I am gay and I am a physiologist.//
Being out is a groundbreaking change in anyone’s life. I hold a undergrad degree in Biological Sciences and I was just brave enough to be out during my Mastering in Cell Biology. I am very lucky for having extremely supportive friends, and mentors since I came out. Although we might think the scientific field is warm and understanding to minorities, we know this is not quite this way, otherwise, by now, it would already be the time for us not be ruled by straight, cis, white men in sciences (and anywhere else). Now, holding a Ph.D. in Physiology and coordinating my own research group as a P.I. in Brazil, I hold the responsibility of being extremely inclusive when gathering students to build a research group.
