I am gay and I am an ecologist, canopy researcher, and media producer.//
I studied coral reef ecology for my undergrad and Master’s degrees . For my Ph.D. I studied movement behavior of mammals in the canopy of the rainforest. I was awarded a Fulbright-National Geographic Digital Storytelling Fellowship to study canopy wildlife in Malaysia and Ecuador and write about the life of a field scientist. I then moved on to a postdoc at UC Davis in movement ecology.
