They/Them

I am queer and I am an environmental educator.//

I completed a Bachelor in Environmental Science including an honours thesis on the breeding biology of the Australian Pelican. I then worked for a short while in ecological restoration before getting a job as an environmental educator and finding my passion. While working at this job I went back and completed my secondary science teaching qualifications and continue to follow my passion working in environmental education.

I have been reluctant to be openly queer in my workplaces for fear of others negative reactions but am slowly learning that people are usually quite accepting, at least in my little corner of the world. I also want queer students I teach to have the opportunity to see queer people working in science/education because I had so few queer people to look up to while studying.
