I am a trans woman and I am an aquatic earth scientist.//
I study missed connections in and among Earth’s waterbodies. If you know a handful of waterbodies do you know them all? Does our understanding of these connections change in the light of ever increasing availability of earth observations data? I ask these questions and more in my quest to increase our understanding and predictive capacity of climate change and nutrient pollution impacts on lakes, wetlands, and estuaries.
I want to show closeted trans people that you CAN be openly trans and keep your career in science. I particularly want to show closeted trans women that you don’t have to hide who you are even if demonization from loud politicians makes you think otherwise.
