I am queer and I am a data scientist and statistician.//
The thing I love about being a statistician is being able to help people understand their data to inform better data-driven decisions. As an R developer, I value the inclusive #rstats community spaces and am an active member of R-Ladies, NHS-R and rainbowR. I’m also passionate about communicating statistics and am a Statistical Ambassador for the Royal Statistical Society, engaging with the media, schools and wider public to improve statistical literacy. I’m currently a senior data scientist at the Strategy Unit where I build open-source Reproducible Analytical Pipelines and provides public health analysts with the tools, skills, and confidence to develop their own reproducible analyses. I have a PhD in Statistics and Operational Research from Lancaster University. I love spending time outdoors, sea kayaking, cycling, or having a dip in the sea. 🌊
