David Lydon-Staley

He/Him

I am gay and I am a psychology postdoctoral researcher. //

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Pennsylvania. I earned my PhD in Human Development and Family Studies at The Pennsylvania State University. My research focuses on how short-term variability (on the daily or even finer timescales) in affective and cognitive functioning (in particular reward processing and cognitive control) renders individuals more likely to initiate drug use, transition to drug dependence, and relapse during drug abstinence, and in identifying the sources of this variability in order to inform interventions. My work involves the use of functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), experimental laboratory paradigms, and daily diaries. I have been married to my wonderful husband Dan for two years.
