I am gay and I am a biogeochemist and ecosystem ecologist. //
I’m a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Eastern Finland. My research is on carbon feedbacks to climate change from boreal and arctic ecosystems, and, in particular, permafrost thaw. I wanted to be a scientist before I knew that I could be one and I’m grateful to a great mentor who steered me toward research. I’m from the U.S. and I’ve enjoyed being in Europe for the past few years. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, skiing, hiking, biking, and hanging out with my dog.
