He/Him

I’m a bisexual trans man and I’m a computational chemist. //

I’m a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Manchester working on computer simulations of complex fluids and soft matter systems. The work I do crosses the boundaries of chemistry, physics, and engineering, and gives me the opportunity to work closely with industrial partners whilst undertaking fundamental research. I’ve been out as bi since I was a teenager, however it wasn’t until I was doing my PhD at the University of York that I came out as trans. The department was really supportive throughout my transition. However, I wasn’t aware of any out trans masculine scientists at the time, which made it quite lonely. I hope that by being out I can increase the visibility and representation of both bisexual and trans masculine people in STEM subjects.
